1. Introduction

Welcome to A & B Resilient Heart Psychotherapy (“the Practice,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing this website, booking services, or engaging in psychotherapy services, you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with these Terms, please refrain from using our website or services.

2. Nature of Services

A & B Resilient Heart Psychotherapy provides psychotherapy and mental health services delivered virtually across Canada. Services are provided by Laura Tingwey, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), practicing as an Independent Practitioner.

Psychotherapy services are not a substitute for emergency medical care.

3. No Emergency or Crisis Services

This practice does not provide crisis or emergency services.

If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health emergency, please:

  • Call 911 (Canada)

  • Go to the nearest emergency department

  • Contact Talk Suicide Canada: 1-833-456-4566 or text 45645

4. Eligibility for Services

Clients must:

  • Be 18 years or older, or have appropriate parental/guardian consent

  • Be physically located in a province or territory where services are legally permitted at the time of the session

  • Provide accurate and complete intake information

5. Appointments and Scheduling

Appointments are booked through our secure online booking system (Jane App).

It is the client’s responsibility to:

  • Ensure availability at the scheduled time

  • Join sessions promptly

  • Provide a private and confidential space for virtual sessions

Late arrivals may result in shortened sessions without fee adjustment.

6. Fees and Payment

  • Fees are disclosed prior to booking

  • Payment is due at or before the time of service

  • Accepted payment methods are processed securely through our booking system

Fees may change with notice. Sliding scale or reduced-fee services, when offered, are determined at the discretion of the practitioner.

7. Cancellation and Missed Appointments

  • A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule appointments

  • Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to the full session fee

  • Exceptions may be considered for emergencies on a case-by-case basis

8. Professional Letters and Documentation

Requests for professional letters, forms, reports, or documentation (e.g., insurance, employer, school) may:

  • Require additional fees

  • Require processing time

  • Be subject to ethical and professional limitations

The practitioner reserves the right to decline requests that fall outside scope or ethical guidelines.

9. Confidentiality and Privacy

Client information is handled in accordance with:

  • Applicable privacy legislation

  • Professional ethical standards

  • Our Privacy Policy

Confidentiality may be limited in circumstances including but not limited to:

  • Risk of serious harm to self or others

  • Suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable person

  • Legal or court-ordered disclosure

10. Technology and Virtual Services

Virtual therapy involves inherent risks, including potential technical difficulties. By engaging in virtual services, clients acknowledge and accept these risks.

Clients are responsible for:

  • Stable internet access

  • Secure devices

  • Maintaining privacy on their end

11. Website Use

This website is provided for informational purposes only and does not establish a therapist-client relationship until services are formally initiated.

You agree not to:

  • Misuse or attempt to access restricted areas

  • Copy or reproduce website content without permission

  • Use the website for unlawful purposes

12. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, and materials, is the property of A & B Resilient Heart Psychotherapy and may not be used or reproduced without written consent.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, A & B Resilient Heart Psychotherapy is not liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential damages

  • Technical disruptions

  • Outcomes resulting from client decisions outside therapy sessions

14. Changes to Terms

These Terms and Conditions may be updated periodically. Continued use of services or the website constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and applicable federal laws of Canada.
